Our Town Theatre is proud to present the 2024 third annual Jane B. Avery Keepsakes award performances. These historical monologues will be performed by Garrett County high school seniors.

Jane B. Avery, a Theatre and English teacher at Southern High School, founded Our Town Theatre and her students’ Keepsakes performances were the first presentations at the theatre. Our Town Theatre has established the Jane B. Avery Keepsakes Award in her memory. Each applicant submits a monologue and works cited page that they have researched and written for a performance based on one of these three criteria: a Garrett Countian who has been deceased at least 50 years, an event in Garrett County that occurred before 1970, or a place in Garrett County.

No reservations are needed, admission is free, but donations will be accepted.

The monologues will be performed at Our Town Theatre on Saturday, April 27 at 7PM. Doors open 30 minutes before the show.
