Our Town Theatre is proud to present the 2024 third annual Jane B. Avery Keepsakes award performances. These historical monologues will be performed by Garrett County high school seniors.
Our Town Theatre will hold auditions for Roald Dahl’s Matilda The Musical JR. on January 17th & 18th from 4:45-6:30 pm in the Great Hall at Penn Alps in Grantsville.

We will be auditioning for The Cemetery Club by Ivan Menchell on Sunday, February 19 and Monday, February 20, 2023 from 6–8 p.m., and auditions for The Odd Couple by Neil Simon on Sunday, March 12, 2023 from 2-5 p.m. and Monday, March 13, 2023 from 6-9 p.m.
To honor Jane B. Avery, founder of Our Town Theatre, and her love of teaching students, the Our Town Theatre Board of Directors has established the annual Jane B. Avery Keepsakes Award. Performances will be the weekend of April 21-22, 2023.
We will be auditioning for The Farndale Avenue Housing Estate Townswomen’s Guild Dramatic Society’s Production of A Christmas Carol by David McGillivray and Walter Zerlin, Jr. on Tuesday, October 25 and Wednesday, October 26, 2022 from 7–9 p.m.
In 2021, the Board of Directors of Our Town Theatre created the JBA Keepsakes Award to honor the legacy of Jane B. Avery. We set aside $2,000 to award to high school seniors in the graduating class of 2022.
Sincell will be honored for both his academic and community achievements at Garrett College’s 50th commencement exercises on May 21st with the awarding of professor emeritus status.
Our Town will be reopening this holiday season with the comedy Every Christmas Story Ever Told (And Then Some!) by Michael Carleton, James Fitzgerald, and John K. Alvarez.
Our Town Theatre will be holding auditions for The Mystery of Irma Vep: A Penny Dreadful by Charles Ludlam. This play is a full-length, quick-change, three-act play and all roles are portrayed by two performers. Auditions are open to all adults, men and women, over the age of 18.
Auditions for our next show The 39 Steps, by Patrick Barlow & John Buchan, will be held Friday, January 3rd and Saturday, January 4th from 7 - 9 p.m.
Join us as we celebrate Christmas with a new take on a beloved classic. This production of It’s A Wonderful Life is staged as a radio play, complete with hilarious “ads!”

This year's children's play is called Trouble in Gooseland and it was written by Amanda Krems and the Waller Mill Elementary School. Auditions will be held Sunday, September 30th from 1 - 3 p.m. and Monday, October 1st from 7 - 9 p.m.

Our Summer Sunday Play Readings continue this year. Join us on August 12, 19, and 26 at 2:00 p.m. at the theatre to hear works by local playwrights.
Barter Camp has been a staple of our summer lineup for 20 years. This year Barter Camp is going Shakespeare! Our campers will get to learn a little about Shakespeare's life, his style, and why he really is so cool! This year's camp will be held August 6-10 from 10 a.m. until noon.
